Friday Favorites 6.7.13

*Le sigh* Sometimes it feels like I'll never have time to catch up on blogging, or anything else for that matter. This week was another crazy one, and probably one of the most hectic I've had in a long time. Last summer, I nannied full-time for my cousin, and she hit me up at the last minute to ask for my services this week. The last five days have been filled with 5am wake-ups, dirty diapers, trips to the swimming pool and not enough naps, including Tuesday when I was recovering from a crazy time the night before at a Marilyn Manson concert and running on less than four hours sleep. I have almost nothing on my agenda for next week, and I will gladly welcome some quiet time to myself to knock out some writing, take some photos, work on some projects and finally get the posts I've been itching to do put together.

My new Marilyn Manson drink koozie is pretty much the bees knees. I got mine at the concert, but you can also find it here.

This tutorial for studded ballet flats by Swellmayde is super easy and inexpensive to throw together. You'll also find tons of other nifty DIYs if you mosey on over to her site.

I think I'm destined to have a house filled with mismatched art, because I keep finding incredible prints that I just have to have! As you've probably gathered through past posts, Beetlejuice is one of my all-time favorite movies, and these portraits of Barbara and Adam by Jaime Knight on Etsy are simply perfect.

P.S. Apparently there's a sequel in the works? Eww. I do not approve.

Few things annoy me more than strange men telling me to smile when I'm out in public. Guess what bro, I don't exist to look nice for you and when I'm out and about with my natural bitch-face on, I don't owe you anything different from my norm, so don't ask for it. This anti-street harassment shirt was designed to detract such shenanigans.

Maybe I was some kind of domestic goddess in a past life, because my love of elaborate hostess aprons just seems to grow by the day. This monster apron from Suburban50s on Etsy is one I'm currently lusting after, though they have dozens of other neat patterns and designs for sale as well.

I'm not sure if this is a real book or just a design someone came up with. Either way, I love it.

I love illustrations from old pulp magazines and horror anthologies. The illustration above was drawn by Virgil Finlay, and it appeared in Weird Tales Magazine, a publication that's always featured some of the greatest art work.

These X-ray paper cut designs by Wendy Wallin Malinow are super neat. This one, inspired by Little Red Riding Hood, is definitely by favorite.

I've always dreamed of having a room overflowing with books. I would give pretty much anything to call the room above "home."
